“Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself.”
The Beautiful Life Lie
We’re all searching for beauty…in our homes, lifestyle and travel destinations, our pets, the cars we drive, even ourselves. As humans, we all want to feel desirable and wanted because we are instinctively social. And the rise of social media on a global level has magnified the need to compete with all those perfect people showing the positively pretty parts of their lives (but not so much the messy parts, hey). It’s created a fixation with appearing beautiful and to be living ‘the beautiful life’.
But chasing this kind of beauty is a losing game. It is all external and open to public opinion. Even if you feel you have achieved it, your status will be short-lived, as it only lasts until the next fad produces a barrage of advertising with new ‘must-have’ goals.
For me, beauty is more about feeling secure enough that you accept all of yourself, inside and out, and can explore more of what makes you uniquely beautiful. Moving through life with confidence shows in everything you do and THAT is attractive.
You are beautiful when you feel worthy ‘just because’…when you are, you.
